Samsung will announce the Galaxy S26 series early next year, but the Galaxy S26 Ultra and S26 Edge models are surprisingly listed on the GSMA IMEI database months ahead of launch. This early listing hints that the device is most likely to launch in January 2026.
This latest information was spotted and shared by Sammy Police. The Galaxy S26 Edge is listed with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which means the Korean tech giant may announce the Edge models along with the base, plus, and ultra models.
Notably, the listing model numbers are SM-S948U/SM-S948N and SM-S947U for the Galaxy S26 Ultra and S26 Edge, respectively, which indicates the company is focusing on key markets first, as always. In this model number, ‘U’ stands for the US, and ‘N’ stands for South Korea.

Galaxy S26 to arrive with One UI 8.5
Reportedly, the Galaxy S26 series will be announced with Android 16-based One UI 8.5 out of the box. However, no information or rumor has surfaced about the specifications of the Galaxy S26.
Apart from this, Samsung today also confirmed the launch date of the next Unpacked event. Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy Z Fold7, Flip7, and Watch8 Series on July 9 at the Unpacked event.
