The highly anticipated Android 16-based OxygenOS 16 upgrade has been launched today. Just a few hours ago, OnePlus completed its OxygenOS 16 launch event, which started at 20:00 IST / 22:30 HKT / 16:30 CET.
What’s new for the Lock Screen with OxygenOS 16
OxygenOS 16 comes with two new lock screen customizations. The first one is the Motion Photo Lock Screen, which allows you to set up a dynamic multilayer look and motion photo with an immersive depth effect. The second feature is Video Lock Screen; it allows users to set a memorizable video story on the lock screen.
OxygenOS 16 Home Screen features
OxygenOS 16 brings a number of customizations, like scalable Home Screen icons in very different styles, which you can see in the screenshot below.
Control Panel new improvements
OnePlus also adds significant change to the Control Panel. Now the icons are more rounded, and Gaussian blur makes them softer, which is looking cool.
OnePlus AI new features and improvements
OnePlus AI is also getting new features and improvements with the latest OS upgrade. It includes AI Voice Scribe, AI Writer, and AI Scan to enhance productivity. On the other hand, AI Portrait Glow and AI Perfect Shot improve your photos.
OxygenOS 16 App Drawer and Widgets
New widgets will make your Home Screen and Selfs come to life. The app drawer gets a new “sort by category” section.
OxygenOS 16 App Improvements
OnePlus enhances the user interface of several applications, including Compass, Calculator, and more.
The company showed next-level UI smoothness with new customization options and new features at the event. The Fluid cloud is now supported by more applications from sports, music, and more. Now the icons folder is more customizable. OxygenOS 16 is bringing smoother animations while swiping, opening apps, and closing apps.
Improved processing and zero-lag multitasking of the UI skin will allow more productivity. It also improved sharing connectivity with other platforms like iOS, Mac, and Windows.

Moreover, OxygenOS 16 open beta is already going on several OnePlus devices. The OnePlus 13 series and 12 series should get the stable update in the coming weeks, as today OxygenOS 16 is launched officially.
