OnePlus started rolling out the stable version of OxygenOS 16 to the OnePlus 13 and 13s last week, and now the new upgrade has been rolled out to the OnePlus 13R as well. As of writing, the update is being distributed in Indian markets.
The update information is based on a few user’s reports on the OnePlus community. OnePlus 13R is getting its first major upgrade in the form of Android 16-based OxygenOS 16 with firmware number CPH2691_16.0.0.205.
The company integrates most of the OxygenOS 16 features into this premium smartphone. The device misses only a few features compared to the OnePlus 13, as the 13R is a midrange smartphone.
As is usual after major updates, you may experience some heating issues and a slightly faster battery drain. However, the company might resolve these issues in the upcoming monthly update.
The OnePlus 13R was announced in January of this year with OxygenOS 15, based on Android 15. OnePlus has officially confirmed its software support policy; this phone will get 4 OS upgrades and 6 years of security support.
