Following the Galaxy A17 5G, the Galaxy M17 5G started getting November 2025 security patches. A new software update for the Galaxy M17 adds the latest Android security patches to the system.
As mentioned in the November 2025 SMR, the new security update integrates patches to solve around 45 issues in Galaxy devices. It may also have system stability improvements in some scenarios.
The update can be verified with PDA build version M176BXXS3BYJ1 for the Galaxy M17 5G. It is rolling out in a package size of 246.62 MB. Notably, the update is currently spotted in Indian units of the M17 5G.
As of publishing, only a few Galaxy devices have received the November 2025 update, including the Galaxy A06 5G, A17 5G, and today the Galaxy M17 5G, but in different regions.
Moreover, the Galaxy M17 was launched with One UI 8, and it will get One UI 8.5 in the coming months. The device is eligible for 6 OS upgrades and 6 years of security support. Currently, the update policy for Samsung’s midrange devices is considered the best in the industry.
It’s great to see Samsung maintaining such an excellent update policy, especially with mid-range devices like the M17 5G. Six years of security updates is something not many brands offer.
