This upcoming update is mainly focused on improvements, optimizations, and a couple of new features over One UI 8.
Recently a tipster said the brand is set to launch the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy devices from the 8th of December 2025. However, firstly, the beta update will be available for flagships like the Galaxy S25; later it will be available for the older models too.
Now the Bar Media control issue is fixed with One UI 8.5
Samsung has prepared a patch to fix an issue in the Now Bar media control, which was reported several times by a user on the Samsung community. The Quick Panel moderator has officially confirmed the issue and assured that it will be fixed with the One UI 8.5 update.
New big firmwares do not only bring new features; they also carry fixes for issues that have been affecting them for a long time.
Notably, the stable will only be possible after the Galaxy S26 series release, as the brand will announce the next S series flagship exclusively with One UI 8.5 out of the box.
