Today Redmi just launched the Redmi 15C 5G in Indian markets; however, the device was already announced in China a few months back. Xiaomi’s official security center listing confirms the increased software support for the Redmi 15C 4G and 15C 5G.
Xiaomi Redmi is making a big leap in budget smartphone software update policy with Redmi 15C and 15C 5G. The Chinese brand has expanded the major software update policy for its new budget smartphone from 2 OS upgrades to 4 OS upgrades.
How many software updates will Redmi 15C get?
Notably, the last year’s launched Redmi 14C was announced with 2 OS upgrades only, along with 4 years of security support. Now this year the company is offering just double OS support to its successor.
Redmi 15C and 15C 5G both will get four Android-based HyperOS upgrades and 6 years of maintenance software support.
Redmi 15C 5G specifications and prices
The Redmi 15C 5G comes with the Dimensity 6300 chip and runs on Android 15-based HyperOS 2. It sports an HD+ display with 120 Hz refresh rate support. On the back side the device has a decently designed dual camera setup, including a 50MP main camera lens. On the front side it houses an 8MP selfie camera.
