Samsung begins a new maintenance update rollout to the Galaxy S23 and S22 units in India.
This fresh software is mainly focused on security improvements and brings several December 2025 Android security patches. These latest security patches resolve more than 57 issues in the Galaxy devices.
Along with some crucial fixes, it also carries system stability improvements. According to the changelog, it does not come with new functionalities.
For the Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra devices, Indian owners can verify the December 2025 update with new software builds S911NKSS6EYL1, S916NKSS6EYL1, and S918NKSS6EYL1, respectively. The download size of this maintenance software is around 485 MB.
The Galaxy S23 series is receiving it with versions S911BXXS8EYK5, S911BXXS8EYK5, and S911BXXS8EYK5 for the base, plus, and ultra models, in order. The update size for these flagships is 440 MB.

As the latest security patches play a crucial role in overall device security, the brand always recommends installing this monthly software. In Samsung’s devices, users can check update availability by heading to Setting » Software Update » Download and Install.
Samsung Galaxy S22 series units running on Android 16-based One UI 8 are receiving this upgrade. The One UI 8 was received by these flagships a few months back, and now the Galaxy S22 series is not eligible for any future OS upgrade.
However, these flagships will get the One UI 8.5 features and enhancements. Samsung has already started the One UI 8.5 beta program for its Galaxy S25 flagships, but the stable rollout will only be possible after the Galaxy S26 series launch.
