The December 2025 security update is now live for Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, and S21 FE in the US. More specifically, the update is available on carrier-locked units of these devices.
The software is rolling out with software versions S921USQS4CYL1, S926USQS4CYL1, and S928USQS4CYL1 for the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra, in order.
On the other hand, the Galaxy S24 FE and S21 FE are getting it with builds S721USQS8CYL3 and G990USQSKIYL1/G990U2SQSIIYL1, respectively.
This is a monthly update and comes with fixes for over 57 issues in Galaxy devices. The software also contains stability improvements in some scenarios. It is beneficial for your device if you install these security updates on time.
It is just a monthly maintenance update and does not come with new functionalities, as it is mainly focused on enhancing your device’s security.
Moreover, these devices have already received the same update in Asia a few days ago. Previously, most of the flagship models, including the S25 series, S23 series, S22 series, Fold7, Flip7, Fold6, Flip6, and more, have also grabbed the December 2025 update in Asia.
All of these smartphones are eligible for the upcoming, much-awaited One UI 8.5 update, but it could take a few months to be available for these models.
