OnePlus has started distribution of the December 2025 maintenance software package to OnePlus 12. The update brings a bunch of new features and improvements.
The incremental update package also introduces the latest December 2025 Android security patches to enhance the security of the devices.
As of publishing, the brand-new update is available to download in Indian markets and expected to be available in other regions in the next few days. OxygenOS 16 running on OnePlus 12 units is getting this firmware, and users can verify it with OxygenOS build version CPH2573_16.0.1.300(EX01).
The fresh update upgrades the XPAN mode UI in the Camera app, which brings significant new options. Storage cleanup tools can be accessed through the Smart Sidebar for easier storage cleanup.

- You can now launch storage cleanup tools directly from Smart Sidebar for easier storage cleanup.

- After resizing an app icon and adding commonly used shortcut icons, you can now drag-and-drop these shortcut icons to rearrange them.
- Adds a “Neon” filter to the Camera app that recreates the CineStill 800T film effect, enhancing atmospheric night portrait shots.
- Upgrades the XPAN mode UI in the Camera app to mimic the most immersive full panorama format camera. The preview screen has been updated visually, and you can now switch between the new and old skins. The development function has been upgraded, making every shutter tap feel significant. New sounds and haptic effects are triggered when you tap the shutter or switch film effects.
- The Camera app now supports XPAN watermarks.
- You can now drag to resize app clone icons and add shortcuts.
- The filter in the Photos app now supports “Motion Photo”, “Screenshots & screen recordings”, and “Edited” options, making it easier to filter images and videos.
- You can now stack 2×1 widgets on the Home screen, improving space utilization.
- Improves the activation of the “Circle to Search” feature. In gesture navigation, even if the gesture guide bar is hidden, you can launch the feature by touching and holding the area where the guide bar is usually located.
- Integrates the December 2025 Android security patch to enhance system security.
- Improves the thumbnail parsing method in the Photos app to speed up the display of thumbnails in the app.
Security & privacy
- You can now edit images and videos directly in Private Safe, without needing to unlock them.
- After you open the Phone Manager app, a pop-up will appear, prompting you to allow automatic blocklist updates over Wi-Fi and mobile data. If you allow this, the blocklist can be updated promptly, effectively improving detection success rates and protection efficiency.
Notably, the device recently received the highly awaited OxygenOS 16 upgrade, which brings a major overhaul to the system, and now this update brings more bonus features and improvements.
Apart from this, the December 2025 security update is already available for dozens of OnePlus devices. But only a few devices are getting new functions with this monthly update. Last week the OnePlus 13 series received the December 2025 update enhancements.
