One UI 8.5 Privacy Display feature is coming exclusively to the S26 Ultra

Galaxy S25 Ultra

A couple of months ago a Korean local media report claimed Samsung will bring new “Flex Magic Pixel” technology to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This technology is mainly focused on enhancing user privacy by enabling a display film effect on the display.

Now a new finding from our colleague Sam Mobile suggests that the One UI 8.5 software will have a new feature called Privacy Display. These features allow the user to make content less visible from the side so someone can’t see your phone screen content.

The feature can be enabled through the Setting app, or users can directly turn it on from the Quick Panel tile. It will prevent others from seeing your on-screen content. It will control individual pixels to block side viewing angles.

There is no information yet about whether the feature will be limited to the Galaxy S26 Ultra or will also be available in the S26 base and S26 Plus models.

Why this feature could be limited to S26

Notably, the Privacy Display feature is only possible on Samsung’s new generation OLED display, so older flagships most probably will not get this function. The brand showcased this technology last year at the MWC 2025 event.

However, more future flagships may have the technology, such as the Galaxy Z Fold8 and later. But currently it seems only the Galaxy S26 Ultra will have this usable display privacy feature.
