Samsung is rolling out a new software update to Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro in Europe and the US. The current update contains January 2026 Android security patches to enhance the watch’s security.
Both Galaxy Watches are getting their first security update after the major One UI 8 Watch upgrade received last month.
European units are receiving the new maintenance update with firmware versions R905FXXU1DYL6, R915FXXU1DYL6, and R925FXXU1DYL6 for Galaxy Watch5 (40mm), 44mm, and Watch5 Pro (45mm), in order.
In the US, the brand-new update is currently spotted on the Verizon-locked Galaxy Watch5 series.
Galaxy Watch5 Pro users can verify the January 2026 update with build version R925USQU1DYL6 (45mm). On the other hand, the Galaxy Watch5 users can identify it with build versions R905USQU1DYL6 and R915USQU1DYL6 for 40 mm and 44 mm models, respectively.
Along with security patches, the update may contain general stability improvements to offer a smoother Galaxy Watch experience.
The Galaxy Watch5 series was announced with One UI Watch 5 and received three major upgrades, including One UI 8 Watch. Now these watches still have 1 more Wear OS-based One UI upgrade left. According to their software update policy, both watches will get security software updates till 2027.
