Apple is set to hold its WWDC26 event on June 8. As always, at this WWDC event it is almost expected the company will unveil iOS 27, iPadOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27, tvOS 27, and macOS 27.
The brand may announce features and the developer betas of these Apple OS 27 ecosystems. Ahead of the iPadOS 27 announcement, we have made a list of expected supported devices based on Apple iPads’ hardware capabilities, devices’ age, and previous release experiences.

- iPad Pro 12.9″ (4th gen and later)
- iPad Pro 11″ (2nd gen and later)
- iPad Air (M2 and later)
- iPad Air (4th gen and later)
- iPad (A16)
- iPad (10th gen)
- iPad (9th gen): Uncertain
- iPad mini (A17 Pro)
- iPad mini (6th gen)
Note: As this is not an official list, the devices can be changed; some devices could be added or removed. Notably, the 9th generation iPad eligibility is also not confirmed due to its older hardware capabilities. Official confirmation of the eligible devices is expected during WWDC 2026.
Many users are eagerly waiting to experience the new features of iPadOS 27. However, even if eligible for the next major upgrade, some features for older iPads may be limited due to older hardware limitations.
