Samsung starts the October 2026 update rollout to its Galaxy devices. The Galaxy S26 FE is the first to get the brand new security patches this month. Currently the update is released for the US carrier-locked units of the Galaxy S26 FE.
The Korean tech giant has started distributing the October 2026 security patches to Galaxy S26 FE ahead of its October 2026 SMR. The update is mainly focused on the security improvements.
Galaxy S26 FE users can identify the brand-new firmware with the One UI 9-based build version S741USQS2AZI5. The update is spotted on Verizon locked units in the US.
This is a monthly maintenance update that does not carry any new features for the handset; however, it adds brand-new security patches to fix various vulnerabilities. The update could be available in other regions in coming days.
Where the Galaxy S26 flagship models, including Base, Plus, and Ultra, launched with One UI 8.5 early this year, the Fan Edition comes with One UI 9 out of the box. However, all the S26 models have received the One UI 9 stable version, but these units are still not receiving the October 2026 patches.
