Galaxy S25 One UI 8.5 beta program arrives in the US

One UI 8.5 Beta

Just a few hours ago, Samsung launched the One UI 8.5 beta program for the Galaxy S25 series in Korea and Germany, and it has just been released in the United States as well.

If you own the Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, or S25 Ultra in the US, you can apply and join the beta program through the Samsung Members app. Notably, the Galaxy S25 Edge is not eligible for the beta program.

Following the beta application, users will get an OTA update with build versions S931U1UEU7ZYL8, S936U1UEU7ZYL8, and S938U1UEU7ZYL8 for the base, plus, and ultra models, respectively, in the US. The One UI 8.5 beta update size is around 4GB for all of these models.

If you notice the build versions, the update is currently only available for the unlocked units of the S25 series.

Samsung One UI’s new 8.5 version brings a host of new features and improvements, and its main focus is to elevate users’ visual experience. More Galaxy AI features are coming with the update. To know about all the features and improvements, please check our dedicated changelog article.

Surprisingly, the Galaxy S25 series units already received the December 2025 security update early today in their home country, just before the beta announcement. However, in the US, the December security patches arrive with the 8.5 beta update.
