Samsung One UI 8.5 Beta 10 Fixes AirDrop Metadata Issues

Samsung has just dropped the One UI 8.5 Beta 10 for its flagship devices, i.e., the Galaxy S26 series. The update has brought the significant fix to the AirDrop metadata issue. However, it is still not completely resolved.

What Metadata issues were fixed?

According to reports, when the users are sharing the files, including images and videos, to Apple devices, they are getting incomplete information about the files, like location information. The file’s EXIF metadata contains the location information, but Apple users cannot see it for some reason.

With the latest One UI 8.5 beta 10 update for the Galaxy S26, Samsung has solved the issue with the images. Videos still contain the issue, but the next update could resolve it.

It is worth noticing that this update with the same build will cover more devices, including the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S24, Galaxy S25 FE, Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6, and Z Flip 6.

For starters, the compatibility of Quick Share with AirDrop is available with the latest app update version 13.8.51.27, and Samsung has officially confirmed that the compatibility for apple devices will be limited to some flagship devices. If you want to take advantage of this feature then you should check for the latest update for your devices.
