Samsung successfully announced its latest flagship foldables along with a premium new Galaxy Z Flip7 FE and Watch8 Series. The latest Galaxy Unpacked event was held today in New York City. Curious about the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7 software update policy? Let’s check out what Samsung is committed to offering for both of these foldables.
How many software updates will the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 get?
At the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7, the company officially confirms the major OS upgrade and monthly security update support policy for both devices. Samsung is committed to offering 7 years of OS upgrades; on the other hand, both devices are also eligible for 7 years of security update support.
Both devices are launched with Android 16-based One UI 8 and are eligible for up to Android 23-based One UI 15.
Is the seven-year update enough?
Further, the update policy is not changed and remains the same as the predecessor. However, fans were not expecting an increase in software support policy, as Samsung is already providing the best software support in the industry. Seven years of software support is enough for any smartphone.
Lastly, Samsung also adds a new member to its foldables family, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. Along with the brand-new foldables, the Korean tech giant also launched the Galaxy Watch8 and Watch8 Classic with One UI 8 Watch.
