Samsung is ready to unveil its first XR headset, which the Korean tech giant called Galaxy XR. Fans have been waiting for a long time to experience the first Android XR from Samsung.
Today the company officially confirmed the global launch date of the Galaxy XR. Samsung is to hold a launch event on October 21 at 10PM ET. Users can join and watch the Galaxy launch event on Samsung.com and the Samsung YouTube channel.
According to the reports, the Galaxy XR is a direct competitor of Apple’s Vision Pro and Meta’s AI Glasses.
Leaked specifications for the Galaxy XR
Recently, the well-known publisher Android Headlines leaked most of the specifications and images of the upcoming Galaxy XR headset. The device is powered by the Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 chipset.
It features two 4K micro-OLED panels and supports 4.3k at 90 fps per eye. It will come with Samsung’s new UI, One UI XR. For general use the battery of the device will last up to 2 hours, while it will last 2.5 hours if only watching video.
This new family member of Samsung will also include some preinstalled apps, including Chrome, Camera, Gallery, Maps, YouTube, Play Store, and Netflix.
