Earlier this week the Galaxy S21 FE‘s carrier-locked models on T-Mobile, AT&T, US Cellular, and others received the One UI 8 upgrade, and now the company has expanded it to the Verizon units too.
The update is rolling out with build version G990U2SQUHIYJ2. Along with the new features of the One UI 8, the update also integrates the September 2025 Android security patches to fix several vulnerabilities.
The One UI 8 is a feature-packed last major upgrade for the Galaxy S21 FE, which is based on Google’s Android 16. Verizon-locked users are getting most of the One UI 8 flagship features except a few, which are only limited to the latest Samsung flagships like the Galaxy S25 series.
Moreover, this was the last major update for the Galaxy S21 FE, as its software update policy now states it will only receive the upcoming One UI 8.5 as a big update, which will improve the One UI 8 features significantly. However, it will get security maintenance updates till 2027
