Samsung has been testing the One UI 9 beta internally for the Galaxy S26 for quite some time. Last month, the in-house internal testing was spotted for the Galaxy S26 with build version S948BXXU1BZC5. However, Samsung has not yet announced the public beta program of Android 17.

When does One UI 9 public beta arrive?
Most probably the Korean tech giant will start the One UI 9 beta in the 4th week of May 2026. We are expecting the beta program next month, between 15 and 22 May, as all recent leaks, timings, events, and previous experiences are pointing towards the May release.
As of now Samsung is busy with the One UI 8.5 testings, but recent leaks suggest the brand is now about to release the stable version from the end of this month or early next month. And expected to be available on most of the eligible devices in the middle of next month.
Alongside Google is also set to hold its Google I/O event on May 17 to 19, and the Android 17 launch will be the center of the event. Around this event, Samsung could announce its Android 17-based One UI 9 beta program for its Galaxy devices, as last time the brand released the One UI 8 beta program in the second half of May.
So following the One UI 8.5 rush and Google I/O, Samsung may start the One UI 9 beta testing program for the public.
Since Google launched the Android 17 beta, most Android smartphone makers have started Android 17 beta programs for their devices. Now hope the Korean smartphone giant will release the One UI 9 beta as expected next month.
