Xiaomi upgrades its software update policy for affordable smartphones with the Redmi A7 Pro. Redmi recently launched the Redmi A7 Pro smartphone in India, which is an affordable handset, but the brand is offering a premium midrange-level software update policy to the phone.
For a long time Xiaomi offered only one or two OS upgrades to its affordable smartphones, but now it seems that the brand is set to extend the update policy.
How many software updates will the Redmi A7 Pro get?
Redmi is officially committed to offering 4 major OS upgrades and 6 years of security software support, meaning the Redmi A7 Pro will get up to Android 20-based HyperOS 7, as it shipped with Android 16-based HyperOS 3 out of the box. On the other hand, it will get security updates till 2032.

Longer software support makes the device experience smooth for a longer time, and most of the Android smartphone brands have already started offering longer software support that pushes Xiaomi to expand its software policy for smartphones.
